Charles LaMonica's Memorial

It is with deepest regret that we share the passing of Charles LaMonica. Charles was a lifelong professional musician, a music teacher, an FDNY firefighter and FDNY marshal. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the City University of New York and a Master of Teaching Music from Herbert H. Lehman College.

Charles passed peacefully on the morning of January 31, 2023 and has returned home to God and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Diana LaMonica; son, Peter LaMonica; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Lynne LaMonica; daughter, Sharon McDonaugh (Shae McDyre); daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dominick Pedota; and grandchildren, Ava LaMonica and Charles Pedota. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Marie LaMonica; sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Joseph Lepore; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

During the live stream, Charles will be celebrated with a look back at his life — his music, his years of service with the FDNY, and the family he built — followed by a moment of silence, both of which appear on the official run of show.
